Here at FWS we are experts on anything remotely French. So today we are going into uncharted French territory for a Guadalupe Beach Wedding! This beautiful Caribbean island is a true dream destination for any couple. We usually dream about ancient castles. But this time we will dream about beautiful beaches with beautiful weather year round.
The beaches at the departmental residence of Gosier were the perfect backdrop. DOLCE VI-MAKEUP ensured that the bride look her best for the biggest day of her life. This beautiful, all-white wedding was captured by Smile and Shine Photography and she will tell you all about the details of this dream wedding.
This is the wedding of Leslie and Gilbert that took place in summer 2019, a French Caribbean-African wedding on the gorgeous island of Guadeloupe in the French West Indies. Gilbert is from Senegal in Africa and Leslie is from Guadeloupe (France). Both of them met during their studies in Montreal in Canada where they work and live now.
They decided to have an “all-white” tropical chic beach themed wedding on the French island but with an elegant African touch to it. A very difficult task as Caribbean and African culture is very colorful! Their guests came from all over the world and they played very well the theme of an “all-white wedding attracts”.
The bride wore an elegant champagne color wedding dress to stand out from her “all-white” guests attracts. The groom wore a chic “French Riviera” style suit with a dark blue vest to also stand out from his guests’ attracts. The very emotional ceremony took place on a private beach of Guadeloupe, with a tropical theme decoration, followed by a very chic reception in the elegant colonial-style venue of “La Résidence Départementale du Gosier”.
The festivities started with a garden party where “petit-fours” and champagne were served. On the sound of steel band music played live, followed by a romantic French-Caribbean dinner in the ballroom. After the dinner, the bride and groom surprised their 200 guests with a Salsa / Samba for their first dance. The bride changed outfits and wore a gorgeous Samba costume.
After their first dance, the party went off well with French, Caribbean, and African style music and dances until late at night. Around two in the morning, a gorgeous passion-fruit flavored wedding cake arrived, all lit up, then was cut by the couple and served to the guests. The evening was full of games and surprises for the bride and groom and will be remembered for many years to come. The party went on until the early morning. This wedding will be a great memory for all their guests and all their wedding providers.
