Hello lovelies, we hope you’re having an amazing week and it can only get better with this chic French Château La Durantie wedding that we have for you today.
We love Château La Durantie here at FWS and take great pleasure in seeing the stunning weddings that take place at this elegant Dordogne wedding venue.
We particularly love our brides stunning Zahavit Tshuba gown which Charlotte wore with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels. Their vision for their day came together perfectly with the help of some fabulous wedding vendors including two of our very own FWS vendors talented videographer Matthias Guerin and florist French Flower Style.
“Once I saw Matthias’ work I knew he would be the perfect videographer for us, very natural shots, and able of capturing all the romance of the day. I didn’t need to give Matthias much direction before the day as his previous work was perfect for us. We had Lydia as our photographer; she was amazing and really took on board what we wanted, our “style” to be which was natural glamour. We didn’t want many pictures too staged, and wanted them to be bright with lots of light. I haven’t got the best memory, so forgetting parts of my wedding day was something that I was very worried about. Therefore having both a videographer and photographer was a priority for us. We are amazed with the outcome of both, beautiful photography and videography, we couldn’t be happier.”
We are starting this gorgeous feature off with Charlotte and Jamie’s beautiful wedding film…
“Jamie and I have been together for 12 years, full of fun and laughter. Jamie and I met at the age of 16 in 2004 at college. We quickly became best friends, we soon realised that we couldn’t be without each other, that there was something special when we were together. Jamie proposed to me just before our 10th anniversary, we were travelling around California, while in Palm Springs on the 3rd of September 2014. It was under the stairs at the bottom of the mountains, Jamie planned the most romantic candle lit dinner in a gazebo filled with roses.”
“We wanted a long engagement and 2 years later we were joined at the chateau by 44 of our closest friends and family for a 3 night stay at the Chateau La Durantie. Every inch of the chateau was beautiful, all the rooms were full of French charm. I had seen the venue online a few years earlier and always knew it was where we would get married. We flew to France and booked it immediately. The décor and grounds were stunning. For the wedding we had a 3 day extravaganza! We had a BBQ party in a nearby castle on the Friday, wedding on the Saturday and a pool party and BBQ on the Sunday at the chateau. It was a 3 day wedding full of fun and laughter. The wedding day was a beautiful 27 degrees without a cloud in the sky.”
“On the wedding day when I first saw Jamie he looked amazing, I had never seen him look so handsome. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to be marrying such a wonderful man. The morning had felt like an eternity apart and I was so happy to finally be marrying him.”
“We had a civil ceremony on the chateau grounds. Towards the end of the gardens was a beautiful stone canopy, we had a flower arch around the canopy to add a romantic and glamorous touch. We had two large flower urns at the front, the aisles lined with petals and beautiful vases at the entrance of the aisle. It was perfect. During the ceremony we had a string quartet play here comes the bride when I walked down the aisle and a variety of songs while the guests were seated including Oasis and Elton John.”
“The wedding theme was romantic glamour. We had rose gold touches, with custom sequin table runners and a diy photobooth to match the table runners. We wanted everything to be unique so we hand sprayed over 70 candles for the reception rose gold around the bottom to add a special touch. They lined the dinner tables in beautiful silver candle sticks in a high and low display.”
“The flowers were beautiful, full of hydrangeas, David Austin roses, and carnations in blush and white tones. We worked very closely with our florist, and the outcome was just what we wanted. We ate dinner in the chateau gardens in the beautiful French sun and had a marquee for the DJ and dancing. We decided that we wanted all the guests on one table so designed a high and low continuous display for the dinner table. It was a unique idea that looked beautiful. As it was an intimate wedding we wanted everyone to feel important to us and all on the one table which was horse shoe shaped.”
“Our first dance was to Charlene Soraia, “Wherever You Will Go” which we had gold confetti cannons let off during. It was magical, it felt as though no one else was in the room, just us. We danced the night away with our friends and family. We did sneak off just the two of us sat down at our candlelit reception table for a moment to take it all in, all our hard work and planning had come together and the best part was we were married.”
