Julie and Joe’s Journey from UNC to the French Riviera
A business fraternity at the University of North Carolina set an unexpected stage for Julie and Joe’s romance. She fell for his quiet confidence and kind heart, while her spirited nature drew him in. After years of long-distance dating, they made their home together in Washington, DC, but their story’s most magical chapter was yet to unfold.
During what Julie thought was a work trip to Paris, Joe carried a precious secret. Despite Julie’s innocent window shopping delays, his timing proved perfect – he offered the ring just as the Eiffel Tower began to sparkle. In her excitement, Julie extended the wrong hand, adding a sweet detail to their engagement story that perfectly captured their relationship’s charm.
Mediterranean Dreams: Mont Leuze, Villefranche-sur-Mer
After falling deeper in love with France during their engagement, Julie and Joe chose Mont Leuze for their wedding day. The venue sits above the Mediterranean, offering views across Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat that take breath away. They wanted their celebration to embrace the natural beauty of the French Riviera while adding their own touches of elegance.

Wedding Planning by Nadia Fry Events & Photography by Vadim Fasij
For their ceremony, Nadia Fry Events created a grounded floral arch filled with Julie’s favorite peonies that framed the sea’s shimmer. As they exchanged vows, Vadim Fasij captured how the setting sun painted everything in pink and gold, turning their moment into pure magic. The couple extended their cocktail hour so guests could enjoy the full spectacle of the sunset, while they stepped away for portraits in the golden light.
The reception unfolded on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. Antique brass vases held varying heights of flowers, while candles and string lights added warm glow to the evening. Cold flame fireworks announced the couple’s entrance, starting a night of celebration. Dancing and joy filled the air until the final sweet moment – a traditional French croquembouche that honored their love of French culture.
Throughout the evening, the mix of personal touches and French tradition created a celebration that felt both elevated and intimate. Julie and Joe’s wedding showed how natural beauty, when paired with thoughtful details, could create moments that live forever in memory.
