A French fairytale castle set the beautiful landscapes of Provence
We are starting the week with a fabulous intimate wedding at Chateau de Robernier featuring two wedding suppliers that I love, the wonderful team at Lavender and Rose and the super talented Alexander James Photography. The location for today’s wedding of Nadine and Serge, Chateau de Robernier, is a truly fairytale castle set the beautiful landscapes of Provence – and we have completely fallen for its romantic charms.
Jennifer from Lavender & Rose planner takes us through Nadine and Serge’s big day: “Nadine and Serge’s intimate Chateau wedding was absolutely one of the highlights from our 2014 season. We have honestly never had as much fun at a wedding than we did with Nadine & Serge.
The couple graciously invited us to participate in the welcome dinner we had organised for them and their 50 or so guests the day before the wedding. The dinner took place at a lovely restaurant in the stunning village of Cotignac, with guests dining on a French family-style menu of warm goat cheese salad for starters and “Daube Provencal” for the main course. The warm evening air and bustling atmosphere of a French village square made for a perfect opportunity for guests to get to know one another before the big day in a relaxed atmosphere.
Her Monique Lhuillier gown Nadine was breathtaking
The French wedding venue the couple chose for their August wedding celebrations, the gorgeous Chateau de Robernier, combines the aristocratic interior design and fairytale turrets of a grand Loire Valley type chateau and the rustic charm of a manor house in Provence with its blue shutters and climbing ivy.
The glamorous female wedding party began the day with hair & makeup prep in the Orangerie. Bride Nadine, went for an elegant sweeping, low up-do with a stunning jewel adornment and veil. In her Monique Lhuillier gown Nadine was breathtaking.
The styling for the flowers was to represent the venue: a combination of rustic and regal. With Nadine, we choose a colour pallet of burgundy, gold, cream, greenery and touches of pale pink mixed with dark wood. The florals combined a mix of peonies, garden roses, amaranthus and hydrangeas in addition to fruits – red and green grapes, black figs and small apples. Florist Perrine used wood-look ceramic containers for the ceremony and gold metallic pedestal vases for the dinner table centrepieces. The burgundy red and gold table-scape complimented the florals perfectly.
The natural outdoor setting for the emotional ceremony was followed by an al fresco drinks reception in front of the Chateau and a cosy, candlelit dinner in the courtyard with glowing festoon lights shining overhead. The top table was nestled under a tree in the courtyard and was decorated with hanging candles and flowers.
First dance song ‘All of Me’ by John Legend
One of the most memorable moments of the day for us was Nadine and Serge’s first dance. In Nadine’s own words;
“It was special, fun and very emotional. We started off with a surprise choreography dance for the song ‘Thrift shop’, followed by our first dance song ‘All of Me’ by John Legend.”
Needless to say that the ‘Thrift Shop’ part was just hilarious, they both really got into it and even had some accessories to get in the mood. The dancing party was so much fun, guests could not get enough of the slow motion video booth we had set up in the ballroom.
Nadine and Serge moved to Paris after their wedding and are enjoying married life in the most romantic city in the world.”wedding at Chateau de Robernier
