The Couple’s Story
Jing and Olivier came from San Francisco to celebrate with their friends and family from France, China and the US. They fell in love with the stunning fairy tale Chateau St Michel in the Pyrenees mountain, southwest of France. Their wedding was planned by Clémentine and photographed by Mark, the husband and wife duo from Awardweddings, who are taking us through their day.
A Gorgeous September Wedding Day
September is a wonderful time to get married in the South of France, temperatures are a bit lower than August but still beautiful and the light is just magical. Jing and Olivier started with a bright blue sky and sunshine. After a morning of easy preparations, their guests arrived for welcome drinks mid-afternoon. The ceremony was on the grounds of the chateau for a feel of woodlands. The group then enjoyed canapes and drinks by the pool, followed by a three-course meal of local organic French cuisine under the chateau’s tent. Jing and Olivier had their first dance with the chateau as their backdrop and danced the night away in the rave cave underneath the chateau with a DJ.
Wedding Style: Classic, Timeless and ElegantÂ
The couple wanted a classic, timeless and elegant styling with a palette of muted reds, pinks and cream. The ceremony was so romantic with an arch of cream draping and flowers all along the tree trunk. The aisle started with two floral arrangements, some more along the aisle and rose petals all along the aisle. The signing table was also decorated with flowers.
The dinner table scape was composed of central flower arrangements with bud vases either sides. Numerous candles lit up the room. There were touches of gold with the cutlery.
The wedding cake was presented in abundance of red roses and flowers from the day. Beautiful stationery punctuated the day with a water paint of the chateau.
Special Details
As they had guests coming from all over the world, especially Chinese, American and French who didn’t all speak the same language, they hired a translator on the day to ensure everyone could follow the ceremony, speeches and general conversation. It was a great addition to the day and for the couple’s comfort. They had also prepared translations of the speeches with QR codes for guests to access easily. At dinner time, the couple gifted their guests with beautiful bookmarks from China.
